New or Pre-Construction During a Down Market

Many builders have slowed down or completely stopped building new homes across the country in what is now considered a down market. I keep track of the developments I am interested in and will wait until the sales start again. It is my guess that the builders will offer worthwhile incentives by the summer to anyone who will contractually commit to purchasing. This is the perfect time to gather your resources and decide exactly when and where you will purchase.

Buying from builders

Buying real estate that is new construction, or even pre-construction can be extremely lucrative. Most new home building in the United States is done by about 10 homebuilders. They tend to build in areas that are economically sound and adjacent to support facilities such as shopping, schools, hospitals, and recreational centers. Many of these builders offer a sizable incentive to buyers that are willing to commit before the homes are built.
